Harbor Cat Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing stray, injured, sick, abused and abandoned cats in Ashtabula County. Our primary goal is to restore the cats to good health and find them good homes. Cats who come into the rescue will be given sanctuary in the rescue until homes are found for them; Harbor Cat Rescue is, and will always be, a No Kill organization.

Cats arriving at the rescue are treated for any apparent physical issues, spayed or neutered, vaccinated and given flea and worm medications.

Some of the cats are very adoptable and some are adoptable but will need a little more time and patience. Many of these cats have already been abandoned one or more times, due to evictions, abuse, pregnancy, injuries or owner illnesses, yet some of the most abused cats are very affectionate in spite of their experiences. Some are shy and take time to trust people again, but there is great satisfaction in earning their trust and love.

We are looking for adopters with patience and compassion. These very special adopters should have a secure home/income and a peaceful, non-violent environment so the cats will never be “thrown away” again.
